Rich Ledger Co (ABN 94 609 352 285) ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, and our obligations as a registered BAS Agent under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 and the Tax Practitioners Board Code of Professional Conduct.
We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide bookkeeping, BAS agent and related services. This may include your name, business name, ABN, contact details, tax file numbers, bank and payment details, payroll and employee information, supplier and customer records, and information contained in your accounting software (for example Xero or MYOB). When you use our website we may also collect information such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited through standard analytics tools.
We collect information directly from you when you contact us, complete a form on our website, engage our services or provide documents and software access. We may also collect information from third parties with your consent, such as your accountant, the Australian Taxation Office, your bank or your accounting software provider.
We use personal information to deliver and manage our services, prepare and lodge BAS and IAS with the ATO, process payroll and superannuation, communicate with you about your engagement, comply with our legal and professional obligations, and improve our website and services. We will not use your information for direct marketing unless you have opted in, and you can opt out at any time.
We may disclose personal information to the ATO and other government agencies where required to provide our services, to your nominated accountant or advisers, to software and cloud providers we use to deliver our services (such as Xero, MYOB, Microsoft 365 and secure document-signing platforms), and to our team members and contractors bound by confidentiality obligations. We do not sell personal information. Some providers may store data outside Australia; where this occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in accordance with Australian privacy law.
We store information in secure, access-controlled cloud systems protected by multi-factor authentication and encryption. We retain records for as long as required to provide our services and meet our legal obligations, including the record-keeping requirements of the ATO and TPB, after which information is securely deleted or de-identified.
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing contact@richledgerco.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time and, if we refuse a request, we will explain why.
